Learning Spanish greetings is one of the first things you will do as you start to look into how you can learn Spanish. If you know how to say “hello”, that is a great start, and you will soon be able to build up from it.
One of the simplest word to learn is how to say “hello” in Spanish. You would say “hola” pronounced with a silent “h”. There are many other simple greetings that you can learn easily. Once you have mastered the Spanish greetings you will feel more confident.
Just imagine visiting a Spanish speaking country for a holiday and knowing that you can say “hello”, “how are you”, “good morning”, “good night” etc. you will feel a lot happier than visiting with no knowledge of the Spanish language at all.
Other important things to teach yourself are things like how to ask for directions, various colors, particular food and drink that you like. You will then be able to pop into a cafe and order yourself a “cafe con leche” (coffee with milk). Although many of the people that live within the tourist areas of Spanish speaking countries do speak quite good English, they do appreciate it when someone makes an effort to at least try and talk a little in their native language.
As you begin to master the basic greetings, you will be able to go on to more complicated phrases, and be able to ask someone how they are feeling, or what is the house special tonight.
