Learning The Spanish Language
A lot of people when learning the Spanishish language start off with things like the days of the week, and numbers etc. These are great words to learn, but if you are planning on learning the Spanish language for a visit to a country where Spanish is spoken, there are going to be several phrases that you will need to know in Spanish. Supposing you need the bathroom, but don’t know the words to ask where it is? This is pretty hard to get over to someone by gestures alone. So learn the word ‘lavabo’ to get you out of any potential sticky situations. You will also need to learn other often used phrases such as ‘where is the bus?’, ‘how do I get to (wherever)?’ etc.
Why bother to learn Spanish if you won’t be able to string a sentence together afterwards? When you are learning the Spanish language it’s a good idea to learn the small verbs like ‘are’, ‘is’, ‘the’, and ‘they’ early on in your studies. This way you will be more able to make sentences, like “where is the train station?”
Two often forgotten words when you are learning the Spanish language are ‘yes’ and ‘no’ - these are often overlooked at the teacher can be so intent on making sure that you can answer his or her questions with full sentences, they do not think about these two words.
You can use an online Spanish course to give you a very good grounding in the Spanish language, or if you want to keep it really simple you can buy yourself a phrase book which will have most of the phrases you will need for a short stay in a Spanish speaking country. Armed with this basic Spanish knowledge you will be able to make your visit in full confidence, knowing that you will be able to make yourself understood in almost any situation.
