Easy and Affordable Spanish Practice Opportunities

You can only become better at something by practicing it often. So this is what I do, all the time, I constantly practice things. I practice cooking, I practice organizing. Practice leading to improved success has pretty much been my experience with almost everything - including learning another language. Spanish practice works best for me when I approach the lessons with a clear head and a relaxed mind. When I’m stressed out about other things, I don’t do as well with the individual lesson. So, I try to practice earlier in the morning before I get inundated with all of life’s demands. Still, life’s demands come at people at different times of day so the early morning is not ideal for everyone.

When it comes to Spanish practice for my children, however, I find that any time they are rested - or at least not extremely tired - is a good time. They don’t really have the same kinds of stresses I do - although they do have their share of child-life annoyances such as too early a bedtime and not enough cookies for dessert - so Spanish practice for them usually works out very well and is very successful at any time of day.

For us, bilingual programs are the way to go when it comes to Spanish practice. Maybe if I had been more diligent about my studies in high school with the language I would have been better prepared to teach my children - but this was not the case. I use bilingual learning as a way to help my children broaden their horizons, culturally speaking, and have also found it assists my children in understanding their own native language of English. I think Spanish presents itself as one of the higher priority languages to learn in this day and age, so this is why I have decided to go with teaching my children Spanish as opposed to any other secondary language.
