Spanish Vocab - Find The Right Vocab for Specific Age Groups
Now that I am working on teaching my kids Spanish at an early age, I find myself digging through facets of my mind, trying to find simple Spanish vocab to teach them. Since I was so worried about coming up with the right Spanish vocab and teaching it to the kids at the right time, I decided to try my luck at a bilingual program (Well, I actually tried more than one, but there are two I came to really appreciate!).
I think that studying a foreign language is a really great idea. It can help make people more aware of cultural perspectives and open up a lot of otherwise unavailable opportunities. When I lived in California, there were a number of job opportunities that I simply could not pursue because I did not speak Spanish fluently - although I did fulfill the English half of the language requirements…
Rocket Spanish (full details here)was enjoyable for both me and my children. Not only did the program provide us with realistic Spanish vocab to learn and use in every day conversations, it was also offered at a personal speed - so if any of my children were having trouble with the particular lesson there was no rush or anything. Without so much pressure on the program, it was really more rewarding and relaxing than other programs I had sampled for my kids.
The Spanish vocab taught included verbs, nouns, phrases and how to pronounce all of these words correctly, which I think has really helped with the children being able to speak as fluently as they do. I was really happy to be able to offer my children the ability to learn another language and hope it will help them in life in the future, from making new friends from different cultures in school to landing those more ideal employment opportunities.
